MODULE INFORMATION BOOKLET

LECTURES

WEEK 1
- For this week lecture, Mr. Shamsul introduced us to the module information booklet and brief us through all the assignments that will be done by us in the upcoming weeks. Mr. Shamsul make sure to explain one by one of the pieces of information and asked us if there is anyone that doesn't understand about what he mentioned. Later on, Mr. Shamsul then introduced us to our first exercise. The exercise given for this week was we had to choose 5 websites that are good from the link that was provided by Mr. Shamsul in Teams and write a 200-word description for each one of the websites explaining why it is a good website. Other than that, as we had to choose multiple websites that are not good to redesign in the next task.

WEEK 2

EXERCISE

GOOD WEBSITE THAT I CHOSE:

DESCRIPTION:
Due to the use of vibrant colors and a minimalist style that somehow manages to grab the interest of viewers, I think this website has an excellent design. The colors chosen on this website complement one another and keep the products, which are the primary attention, in focus. Apart from that, the website performs really well. For example, it loads the entire page quite quickly. In addition, the layout of the website is in a good flow. For instance, when users swipe down to the end of each section of the page, it will automatically take users onto the next page without needing to go back all the way to the top of the page. In conclusion, this website is extremely simple to use as I have tested it on the two of my devices, my iPad and phone with the website working perfectly. Customers are also able to purchase their products with ease because the webpage provides a clear information about where to purchase each one of the products as well as all the products usage are written on each product pages.

DESCRIPTION:
When I first encounter with this website, I was taken away by the presentation of it. It made me wondered how long it takes one to complete this amazing website with such a high-quality cinematic presentation. First of the information that was presented on the website was very clear and informative as it was in a good layout of flow. It contains mostly everything about Vincent Van Gogh with the timeline given on the side. Not only that, but all of his artwork was also included as well page by page in the right order. Other pros of this website was the smooth scrolling of this website. There was no lagging at all while I scroll on all types of devices as well as the loading time was very acceptable. In conclusion, I would say thus website is a very excellent website for users doing research about Vincent Van Gogh but has a short attention span as this visual presentation of this website will definitely keep the user entertain.

DESCRIPTION:
Like every other website, I choose this as one of the example websites because of its layout as well as the vibrant color used that catch my attention. One of the details that I really like was the moving logo on the left side of website. It really gives off its own character. There wasn't a lot of overwhelming information which is good. Other than that, the typography aspect in this website was very good such as the typeface that they used was a very simple and easy to understand font. The home panel was also very easy to understand therefore it allows users to just click into it without being confused on where to click on after they've reached the end of the page. As of the colors, I can see that the creator tried to just include monochrome colors such as only black and white but wanted to include a slight hint of vibrant color to not make the website seem uninteresting as the cinematic aspect wasn't very appealing.

DESCRIPTION:
This website was one of the websites that put me in awed as well other than the second one. The cinematic presentation of this website was the best I have ever seen. The detail in cinematic aspect is just amazing how detailed it is. Not only that, but the quality of all the images used on the website are very high in quality. Other than that, I would love to talk about the motion that is included on the website. It has a lot of motion movement such as when users scroll down there is some animation motion and so on, on the website there is movement to the left and right. Despite all this motion movement, it does not cause motion sickness to users as it is very organized, and short information was included instead of long information that will overwhelm the users while reading it. In my opinion, the colors that was used in each section was very color coded such as the creator used one vibrant color for each section which is a good idea to keep the focal point visible to the users.

DESCRIPTION:
I choose this website only because I really adore the simplicity of everything aspects such as the colors used, the layout as well as the information. The color used was very minimalist as the creator mostly used monochrome color which is only black and white. The performance was very fast as well. For instance, it didn't even take one minute to load everything. Othe than that, I would say the layout is very simple and easy to read for users as it is only scrolling down to see more information or there is the home panel that users can press on to go on specific pages that they want to know more about. As for me, the focal point of this website was the key to this website which is the image used on the main pager. It is very smart of the creator to draw the attention of users by including image of multiple artists on the first page. This is said because users would obviously click into the website if they saw any artists that they favor or they know as it sparks curiosity.
