REFLECTION

EXPERIENCE

Throughout the entire semester of studying typography, I would say that this module really helped me learn a lot. Before taking this module, I had little to no knowledge of typography. This module's hands-on experience, which I gained through discussions, projects, and assignments, was one its most beneficial parts. The difficulties I had when working on assignments pushed me to practice critical thinking skills and consider different points of view. I discovered that I was looking into ideas outside of the main course of study, which enabled me to have a more advanced understanding of this module. I became better at solving problems. This class not only helped me learn a lot, but it also helped me interact with more classmates and get to know them better. In conclusion, this module also greatly helped in my friendship growth and improved my connection with the lecturer. From now on, I feel more confident with my typography understanding and I am sure that the knowledge that I gained will benefit me a lot in the future with assignments or work.

OBSERVATIONS

This entire module led me to the conclusion that typography is essential in every sense that without it, everything would be quite boring. For instance, every poster will have the same dull appearance. When I first started this module, I was really confused and afraid that I was doing something incorrectly, but as I worked hard to understand it and complete my assignment according to the lecturer's instructions, I began to realise that it wasn't difficult at all and also began to enjoy this module. Additionally, I used typography in other modules I completed, like the poster for photography. Lastly, I would say that I am glad that I got a chance to explore typography more in depths.

FINDINGS

Based to the module's findings, typography is an important aspect in design in my opinion. This is said because I realised that it is one of the ways to communicate with many audiences or viewer. Furthermore, we worked very hard on our eportfolio as well. Apart from that, typography is a really fascinating subject because we can explore multiple things while working on a single assignment. For example, in task 2, we learnt how to use both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. Last but not least, I found that making our own fonts come to life was the most fascinating and enjoyable work we completed. The fact that it was that simple was truly surprising me.

This book studies the psychology of typefaces and how they might affect our thoughts and actions. She starts out by talking about how common fonts are and how they affect our daily lives, making the case that they are very important when considering how we feel to the world.
