LECTURE


Our first lecture class for the first semester was this week. We were given an overview of Digital Photography and Imaging by Mr. Fauzi, who also gave us a brief rundown of our remaining semester activities. For the rest of the semester, he also assisted us everyone in creating an Adobe email account. Afterwards, he proceeds by educating us on the purposes of Photoshop and its importance for this semester. 


  • Why is photoshop important for this module? 
- Express creativity 

- Create graphic design 

- Restoration of old images 

- Integrate graphics with text artistically 

- Make use of brushes 

- Change photo color 

- Rectify mistakes in photographs 

TUTORIAL and PRACTICAL

In the first week of class, Mr. Fauzi gave us a brief overview of the digital photography and imaging module before introducing us to our first assignment of the week, which was to choose collages that we like as well as creating a DPI Pinterest board with all the collages we like from other creators. We had to select three collages from Pinterest that we liked the most and write a brief description of each one.


1st collage


Description:

The neutral color scheme with hints of pastel colors completely caught my attention to this poster. Moreover, the collage contains all the features from the book while maintaining a very clean aesthetic. 

 

This poster expressed: 

The above poster is an extract from a nonfiction book published by Colleen Hoover.

I believe the image portrayed the essence of being in a flower store while engaging in a romantic tale about life.

The poster's concept shows that it's inspired by the saying, "Love is not easy, neither is it impossible," as presented.



2nd collage


Description: 

The poster's striking and elegant appearance drew my attention. Personally, I think this poster is aesthetically pleasing and I comprehend what the designers are attempting to convey to the audience.



This poster expressed: 

This poster captured the vibe of the lavish lifestyle of the nineties.

The vintage money vehicle greatly enhances the poster's appearance.

The leopard pattern style and the gold grills covering the teeth are what strike the attention in this picture. To sum up, the entire poster truly portrayed a lifestyle from the 1990s, however I think other people could disagree.



3rd collage


Description:

I was captivated by this poster's hidden message below the poster and unique elements when I saw it. 


This poster expressed: 

As you can see, this poster displays a single human shadow figure as its focal point along with collages and sketches within the person.

The concept of intuition was expressed in this poster.

The sketchy drawings surrounding the image of the individual in the shadows illustrate how our inner selves always have ideas that result in an intuition of any circumstance or person.



REFLECTION

Since it was the first week of classes, we didn't do much in class this first week. Although it was only a quick introduction, I'm happy to have learned what we are going to be doing in this module for the entire semester. Apart from that, we had a simple little task. Choosing my collages from Pinterest was a lot of fun because I got to see so many other incredible collages.
