LECTURE
For this week lecture, we got introduced to the introduction to basic composition. For example:
- Introduction to basic composition
- Focal Point: A key element to the whole composition.
- Scale & Hierarchy: Help communicate hierarchy by drawing attention toward and away from certain elements.
- Balance The Elements: Technique to master asymmetrical balance is to think that each element has its own weight.
- White Space: The empty space in the composition.
- Rule of Thirds
- The process of dividing an image into thirds, using two horizontals as well as vertical lines. The grids divide into nine parts with four intersection point.
- Golden Ratio
- A mathematical ratio. Commonly found in nature and when it is in design matter, it is an organic and natural looking composition.
TUTORIAL and PRACTICAL
During the second week, Mr. Fauzi showed us how to put together our own collages using printed materials or magazines that we had cut out. To finish this assignment, we had to bring a few materials. We were given instructions to create three collages and select the best one to use as the final piece of art.
FEEDBACK:
Mr. Fauzi gives me feedback on my work for this task. He noted out that my first collage lacked a clear focus point for the audience because everything was about the same size. He commented that the second collage looks excellent, but that it would be better if there was a specific flow in line with the arrangement I made. He found the third collage to be the best of all and recommended that I use it as my final collage.

Final Collage
Description:
This is my finalization of my composition artwork. I choose this because I really like how it looks. As well as its very clear that I'm going for a vintage look for this task. This composition also has its own flow. It doesn't look messy like the other compositions that I did. That's the reason I chose this.
REFLECTION
In this week's lesson, we were assigned to do an exercise that involved cutting out magazines or printing and arranging them on our canvas. I truly enjoyed this activity since it allowed me to engage with all of my friends and get feedback from Mr. Fauzi while carrying out this task. I also got to observe how creative everyone's minds are. I also learnt a lot, such as how to be certain that there is a flow from the start to the end and how to minimize negative spaces.
